Understanding my audience and who will be interested

I have collected evidence for which; genres, audiences will be most interested in. I'm performing this task, just so I know what groups I can gain interest in what genres people prefer. such as:
And:

Plot Summary (for my (final) decided short film)

I will follow a theory of Ihab Hassan's Postmodernsim, and how it and modernsim differ from each other. And I will explore this theory through inscribing the idea of parellel universes, with two being used to describe Modern & Postmodern. The timelining between realities will remain consistent and simultaneous. I want the time scale to represent my present time in 2012/2013 during the course of my A2 studying(October - February).

Narrative Story
In a universe, where technology has slightly increased to a rapid extension of their timeline, all people on Earth can gain intergrated computerised software hardwired into their bodies. Whether it's; limb augmentations or neuronic software for boosting electronic signals interpreted by the brain - making everyone study driving within a matter of seconds, or reducing dementia in the elderly.

The main character, Jonathan, has no augmentations, and now starves of hunger, after a worldwide virus shutsdown all users with bio-chips (who have now become mindless drones), and are controlled by a mysterious hacker to eradicate all humans. Jonathan, at the moment in time, is travelling to a nearby food storage to gather enough sustinance to survive a long period of time. But he gets attacked along the way by a drone, and falls victim to accepting his death as the last man on Earth. Suddenly, the drone collapses, and shuts down completely, by an electro magnetic pulse. Jonathan looks up to see a mysterious figure, but it will remain unknown if the figure is human, or a disraught drone.

My plot shares the same concepts as products such as:

Narrative Plot
Working on a limtied budget as an A level sudent, and some of my ideas are too ambiguous to depict literally, however movies conventually suggest or imply narrative, So I don't need to present all of the story. My intended audience is young adults, (like Pete Buckingham's theory, I will suggest contextual ideas throughout my film, similar to sci-fi films - and most young adults have imaginitive beliefs, so that they will understand the story better,) so I am confident they will put my film on context and suspend disbelief enough to not notice the gaps.

Next steps: I need to investigate audience types; Imdb, bbfc, bfi will all give me lots of starting points to understanding my audience. And I need to refine my narrative plot; what am I going to film. I've done an initial storyboard, however made loads of changes, so I need to redraw it.

Research of the 2 genres (Comedy & Action)

Below are links to websites that show relevancy to understanding the two genres, beginning with action:

These links all seem to say what I've already written within my mind-map of the action genre. Therefore my research is now, backed up with evidence of that fact. Comedy:
These links are ones that I have used within my comedy genre representation, and describe the methodoligy of comedy films and their techniques. Most interesting is their statements about how they cure depression through entertainment; specifically of 'loser' characters that are pushed through the worst ordeals, and makes the audience feel reassured for their lifestyles.

A blend of genres

I have explored the genres of Comedy and Action, and the contextual linking of Action/Comedies, and designed a presentation to demonstrate:

2 genres reviewed by video - Short and quick

These are both video blogs, both very short, and providing examples of action & comedy films from small collections. These examples would prove to be the leads from which I will base my project on.

The 2 genres mind mapped

This presentation establishes my understanding of comedy films, and subtle details that I may use for my future project. If comedy is my choice, I would probably use surreal or physical comedy.

This presentation shows my understanding of the action genre, and reasons for utilizing it. Though it will have less narrative, there will be more action for this short film, keeping people interested along the physical effects, and visual display, rather than story.

Different genres for my short film

These 2 ideas will have to be researched further to ensure that the project is stabilised and is met with complete attention
