Plot Summary (for my (final) decided short film)

I will follow a theory of Ihab Hassan's Postmodernsim, and how it and modernsim differ from each other. And I will explore this theory through inscribing the idea of parellel universes, with two being used to describe Modern & Postmodern. The timelining between realities will remain consistent and simultaneous. I want the time scale to represent my present time in 2012/2013 during the course of my A2 studying(October - February).

Narrative Story
In a universe, where technology has slightly increased to a rapid extension of their timeline, all people on Earth can gain intergrated computerised software hardwired into their bodies. Whether it's; limb augmentations or neuronic software for boosting electronic signals interpreted by the brain - making everyone study driving within a matter of seconds, or reducing dementia in the elderly.

The main character, Jonathan, has no augmentations, and now starves of hunger, after a worldwide virus shutsdown all users with bio-chips (who have now become mindless drones), and are controlled by a mysterious hacker to eradicate all humans. Jonathan, at the moment in time, is travelling to a nearby food storage to gather enough sustinance to survive a long period of time. But he gets attacked along the way by a drone, and falls victim to accepting his death as the last man on Earth. Suddenly, the drone collapses, and shuts down completely, by an electro magnetic pulse. Jonathan looks up to see a mysterious figure, but it will remain unknown if the figure is human, or a disraught drone.

My plot shares the same concepts as products such as:

Narrative Plot
Working on a limtied budget as an A level sudent, and some of my ideas are too ambiguous to depict literally, however movies conventually suggest or imply narrative, So I don't need to present all of the story. My intended audience is young adults, (like Pete Buckingham's theory, I will suggest contextual ideas throughout my film, similar to sci-fi films - and most young adults have imaginitive beliefs, so that they will understand the story better,) so I am confident they will put my film on context and suspend disbelief enough to not notice the gaps.

Next steps: I need to investigate audience types; Imdb, bbfc, bfi will all give me lots of starting points to understanding my audience. And I need to refine my narrative plot; what am I going to film. I've done an initial storyboard, however made loads of changes, so I need to redraw it.
